Fans are having so much fun joking about Uncle Ben’s alleged role in the upcoming Spider-Man: Freshman Year animated series that “Uncle Ben” is famous on social media.
Spider-Man, of course, has one of the most iconic origins of any Marvel superhero, and at the heart of that origin is the fact that his beloved uncle Ben Parker dies for what one could at least say my name.
Peter Parker’s responsibility and his uncle Peter’s death led him to dedicate his life to becoming a superhero, with the motto (which he often learned directly from Uncle Ben): “With great strength comes great responsibility.” Of course, when there’s a new movie or series about Spider-Man, it starts with Spidey’s origins, and then Uncle Ben has to die every time.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe version of Spider-Man was a notable exception to this trend, completely ignoring the origins of Spider-Man. However, that is about to change with the announcement of the new animated series Spider-Man: Freshman Year, which is expected to tell how Peter Parker became Spider-Man at MCU. But if there is to be a decent, it is not good news for Uncle Ben.
So fans on social media enjoyed joking about how this new series will almost certainly include Uncle Ben’s death. One of the most popular posts related to a popular meme with Grand Theft Auto as the main character in this game, Carl “CJ” Johnson, resigns because things get complicated again as Uncle Ben is about to die again.
