Mega Man live-action movie on Netflix

The making company behind the Mega Man movie has released an update on the production of the video game adaptation, revealing that Blue Bomber is coming to Netflix.

The film was briefly featured in an update to the official website of Supermarket, and a production company made up of Mega Man writers and directors Ariel Schulman and Henry Joost. Joost and Schulman are perfectly known for their work on the Paranormal Activity franchise. The duo’s bio now shows that the film adaptation of Capcom’s popular 2D action platformer series is “in the works” for the streaming company Netflix.

Although it was announced more than four years ago, little is known about the Mega Man movie. Capcom first announced plans to produce a Mega Man film in 2018. It revealed that Joost and Schulman were leading the project. With Heroes star Masi Oka as executive producer. After one year without updates on the film’s progress, Capcom confirmed in 2019 that the film is still in production. In 2020, The Hollywood Reporter told The Hollywood Reporter that the film was written by Mattson Tomlin, who co-wrote Warner Bros. ‘The Batman. Matt Reeves, starring Robert Pattinson, hits theaters in 2021.

The Mega Man film will be the latest in a long Capcom game-to-movie adaptation. The Street Fighter movie was released in 1994 with Jean-Claude Van Damme and Raul Julia. While critics screamed for the film when it was released, it is now an ironic cultural classic. Produced the live-action movie Resident Evil in 2002. Although critics also criticized it, it had moderate success with five sequels. Resident Evil’s latest film, Welcome to Raccoon City, takes place on a resume sequel and was hailed initially as a more faithful adaptation of the games to the original film series. It was released in November 2021 with mixed reviews.

Mega Man, also known as Rock Man in Japan, was introduced to the world in 1987 as a video game for the original Nintendo Entertainment System. The play tells the story of the eponymous Mega Man, a robot supposed to look like a little boy, and the civilian inventor who created Dr. Light. Mega Man must fight against eight robot champions, led by the insane rival Light Dr. Wily has been taken. Directed by Akira Kitamura, it recognized the 2D platform game for its non-linear progression structure unique at the time and for the scissors mechanics of stone paper that Mega Man could equip. The original game was a highlight and leaked many sequels and side effects. The latest new franchise title, Mega Man 11, came out on the Nintendo Switch, Sony Playstation 4, and Microsoft Xbox One in 2018.
