The Witcher Season 2: Release Date

Till present, The Witcher season 2 doesn’t have an exact official release date, but we will expect it to be declared soon. The first season of the series – displayed on Netflix, which consisted of 8 episodes, was broadcast on December 20, 2019. Shortly after that, the production for the next season was under process, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a delay was seen in the shoots between March and August. However, the official account of The Witcher on Twitter stated the return of the cast and the crew back on the set on August 17, 2020. Therefore, The Witcher season 2 will be released in 2021, but the exact is still not known as Lauren S. Hissrich said, “We don’t yet have a target release date for season 2, past 2021”.

The Witcher Season 2: Cast

The same characters will be observed in season 2 as well, which include Henry Cavill, Anya Chalotra, and Freya Allan, who are ready to go back on the sets. Moreover, many new members as “Witchers” have also be cast for the upcoming season of the series, who will be played by Paul Bullion, and Yasen Atour. Reportedly, Joel Adrian can also be seen in the series. Along with all these, other known faces from season 1 will remain the same as far as we know. Interestingly, the characters who are cast for the roles in the series appear to be living the life of Witchers themselves as they possess such demeanour.

The Witcher Season 2: Production

Netflix confirms that the dynamics of the series have seen many variations, which also contains modifications in the directors of The Witcher season 2. The new directors are:

  • Ed Bazalgette
  • Sarah O’Gorman
  • Geeta Patel
  • Stephen Surjik

Now, if we move onto the writing aspect, Hissrich has given the World a genuinely new direction and perspective of writing for this show. She explains her thought by addressing those who “love the World but aren’t afraid to question it. Who are fans, but are willing to step back and open their minds, to bring their beloved World to our real (big) one.”

The Witcher’s second season is supposed to have begun in February 2020, and Hissrich confirms that they added new talent in the next season because of the overwhelming appreciation received by the first season.

Though the story for season 2 is still not known, one can make out the ideas from the book this series is based on. The upcoming season is going to be marvellous because of all the thrill and suspense it will include. For more latest updates, Stay tuned.
