Before the MCU, Batman was the largest superhero franchise on the big screen. Even as Warner Bros had to start and stop a few times since Christopher Nolan Dark Knight trilogy covered up, excitement for the caped crusader from Gotham is always great among fans.

A whole new idea on Ben Affleck’s Batman character that fans got in Batman v Superman and The Justice League, Matt Reeves wrote and is leading The Batman. There are some rumblings of how Reeve’s version of Batman could cooperate with Warner Bros.’s efforts to continue to perform a DC Universe to rival Marvel.

Who is ‘The Batman’ director Matt Reeves?

If you do not know the name Matt Reeves informal, you know he has made some of the movies after getting his start in TV. He made his feature film directorial appearance with the found-footage monster flick Cloverfield.

But his biggest movies so far have been Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, the critically-acclaimed series to Andy Serkis’ rebooted Planet of the Apes franchise built-in 2010.

He still has a toe in the TV waters, creating writing the pilot episode for NBC’s newest hit drama, Ordinary Joe.

‘The Batman’ cast?

Michael Keaton, George Clooney, Christian Bale, Adam West, Ben Affleck, and Val Kilmer have all worn the cowl to take on the character of Batman. The latest actor portraying Bruce Wayne in the Matt Reeves-directed film will be Robert Pattinson.

Pattison is known for his breakout role in the Twilight franchise. But the actor has been making some exciting choices starring in films The Rover, Maps to the Stars, The Lost City of Z, High Life, and The Lighthouse. He made his big budget comeback in Christopher Nolan’s Tenet and is again taking on the lead role in a potential franchise.

Of course, it would not be a Batman film without Bruce Wayne’s trusted advisor. This will be a meeting for Serkis and Reeves, who worked on the recent Planet of the Apes films. In my experience, Serkis will not be using a mo-cap to play Alfred.

On Batman’s side, the Gotham City administrator, recently played by Gary Oldman and J.K. Simmons. In the movie, Peter Sarsgaard is slated to play District Attorney Gil Colson, another potential ally for Batman.

He may need all the help, as multiple infamous Batman set to appear in The Batman. The Penguin, played by Colin Farrell, The Riddler, played by Paul Dano; Catwoman, played by Zoë Kravitz; and Turturro. Still, a Penguin spinoff show is reportedly in development for HBO Max.

What is the plot of ‘The Batman’?

We don’t know how complex any of the listed villains arriving in The Batman are because we know nothing about the plot. The official page for the movie offers no information regarding the property, and The Batman IMDb page says, “the plot is unknown.”

In it, we see The Riddler giving many notes for Batman, making him seem like the early favorite for the main villain. Still, we also get a fight scene between Batman and Catwoman. Maybe we are making more information on The Batman very soon.

‘The Batman’ release date?

Just like about every movie over the last 19 months, The Batman has been a force to go around its release date a few times; this included having to shut down production when Robert Pattison tested positive for COVID-19.

Initially, The Batman was eyeing an October 2021 release date but has since been shifted to a planned rollout on March 4, 2022.

If you were wondering, even though The Batman is a Warner Bros. film and the studio made headlines by giving contemporary releases of all its 2021 movies in cinemas and on its HBO Max streaming service, The Batman would not be receiving the same treatment. Warner Bros. has committed to moving back to exclusive professional windows for its movies starting in 2022.

‘The Batman’ connect to the larger DC Universe?

At least their best efforts, Warner Bros, have not generated the kind of interconnected universe of movies and characters that Marvel has with the MCU. Now they are officially going on from the Snyderverse. It seems that the plan is for DC characters to survive on their own, with any possible crossovers getting through another standard method; the MCU is now also employing multiverse.

We understand this because The Flash movie’s upcoming will be the first natural dip into this new look strategy. As far as we know, Robert Pattinson’s repetition of the character is not permitted for The Flash.

Is there a ‘The Batman’ trailer?

DC Fandom was filled with plenty of new and exclusive content. Still, one of the most likely unveils when the event was the release of the brand new trailer for The Batman. It has been more than a year because the first trailer debuted online. This new look offers an even better look at the latest movie featuring the caped crusader.

Fans get their best look yet at Paul Dano’s The Riddler, a problematic relation with Zoë Kravitz’s Catwoman, and a fun chase scene with Colin Farrell’s The Penguin. Plus plenty of clips of Robert Pattinson’s Batman struggling off some goons.
