Sony’s first look at Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Part One) begins when Spider-Man: The Spider-Verse ended as Miles Morales relaxed on his bed and listened to Post Malone and Swae Lee with “Sunflower” as the portal opens on it, and Gwen Stacy says “Miles!” hear screams. Thousands! Do you have a moment? However, other aspects of the first scene suggest that some time has passed since the first film.
Without further confirmation details about the plot, we can not yet say with certainty exactly when Over the Spider-Verse will take place on Into the Spider-Verse; however, some time must have passed. There are usually design changes between animated films and their sequences. Still, Miles’ specific design changes make him taller and more muscular; he looks older than in the first film, as it can take months, if not years, for miles.
Gwen has also undergone some design changes where her hair grows more protracted than the last time viewers saw her Into the Spider-Verse. It is clear that although Miles has probably only been a few days, Gwen has spent a considerable amount of time, which raises the question of whether time moves differently between the universe.
She already has a “long story” to tell about how she came back to Miles ‘Universe, and when she sees Miles’ drawing of her in her notebook, she says, “I lost you too.” While Miles’ response to “I thought I would never see you again” may have been the result of a recent farewell shock, it seems definitive. It’s clear from Gwen’s dialogue that she’s been gone for a while.
On this basis, how can this teaser video, which continues right at the end of Into the Spider-Verse, and which is likely to return months, if not years, later? The possible answer is that the final version of Into the Spider-Verse could take place long after the rest of the film. That was probably not the original intention, as the ending of Into the Spider-Verse uses the same design for Miles as the rest of the film and then overlaps with Miles’ recent story, in which he describes him as “it is one. e. “one” is a spiderman “for” two days. “Although initially thought that the last shot would take place in those two days, it’s easy enough to go back.
Given Spider-Verse’s attention to detail, Across the Spider-Verse may even recognize this return in a kind of meta-state. However, with such things, there is always the danger of being a target. One theory circulating on the Internet is that the teaser’s open motto, “Meanwhile in another universe …” could mean that the thousands featured in this teaser are not at all thousands of miles from Into the Spider, but that very similar, very similar episodes have been through it. Still, it is too ambitious and would be very confusing in practice.
So far, it’s best to assume that this is just a re-creation of the final image from Into the Spider-Verse, which we can now consider for a while after the rest of the film.
