The ex-husband of Lisa Marie Presley got some bad news in court now.
Michael Lockwood has been arranged by a California judge to pay $140,000 to cover the cost of the attorneys of his ex-wife.
According to Radar Online, the price will probably be hard for Lockwood, who has endured a financial strain because of the divorce.
He claims whilst carrying any job he could to make ends meet, he needed to remain throughout their divorce in a Holiday Inn, also couch-surfed.
The ruling came on Dec. 16, together with a second hearing scheduled for tomorrow, Dec. 20.
“The court finds respondent had proper notice and opportunity to be heard,” Judge Joseph Lipner stated in his affidavit, which said that the charges were to be split, $129,000 for her attorney’s fees and $11,801 in extra expenses.
Their ongoing legal dispute has to do with a custody battle over their brothers.
Presley filed for divorce from Lockwood in 2016 after 10 years of marriage.
The dispute with Lockwood isn’t the only hassle Presley has been dealing with of late.
The daughter of the late Elvis Presley has been at a long-running legal battle with Barry Siegel, her former business manager.
Presley said that Siegel abandoned her” financially devastated” after squandering the singer’s $100 million chance.
Presley claims that her former manager sold 85 percent of her stake in Elvis Presley Enterprises to be able to cozy up to some well-known investor.
It was a conclusion that” put his own best interests before her to put himself in closeness to [the investor] along with his celebrity circle,” she claims.
Siegel has denied any claims, asserting that when Presley fired him, “all of Ms. Presley dealings with her accountants and other financial professionals article –2016, along with any investigations they performed of her financial situation and any talks they had with Ms. Presley related to her financing, are potentially relevant.”
The litigation also allegedly place Presley at odds with her mother, Priscilla, the former spouse of The King of Rock N Roll.
It’s not the first time both have not seen eye-to-eye on family matters.
The pair will also be appearing in a debate about the upcoming Elvis Presley biopic, directed by Baz Luhrman.
Though the elder Presley has been involved in the film’s pre-production, Lisa Marie worries that the portrayal of the courtship (and after marriage), won’t be received well from the #MeToo era, considering Priscilla was 14 when she met her future husband.
