The new season of Legacies has just begun on The CW. Starting October 14, 2021. We will continue our journey with Hope, Milton, and Lizzie. The spin-off series will continue to be available on Netflix as part of Legacies’ deal with The CW. Find out when you can expect the fourth season of Legacies on Netflix here.
As of 2018, the series is a spin-off of The Originals, which in turn is a spin-off of The Vampire Diaries (both series will remain on Netflix for the foreseeable future).
Danielle Rose Russell, Aria Shahghasemi, Kaylee Bryant, and Jenny Boyd will appear in the spin-off’s fourth season.
Season four will return to its regular time slot on The CW in October, after season three was moved to January 2021 due to filming delays. The new season is expected to have 16 episodes, just like the previous three seasons.
Before focusing on when the series will be available on Netflix, let’s do a little housekeeping.
When season four began, Legacies season three was unavailable on Netflix, but all sixteen episodes were eventually added on October 19, 2021.
Legacies’ fifth season has yet to be announced. If the series receives an order for a fifth season (which is expected), we will likely find out in early 2022.
When will Legacies season 4 arrive on Netflix?
According to The CW and Netflix (which expires in 2019 but still covers Legacies), new seasons will appear on Netflix soon after the series ends.
Typically, this means that the show will appear on Netflix about 8-9 days after the season finale, but this is not the case with Season 3, which we mentioned above.
However, the deal is still expected to close in 2022.
Seasons 1 and 2 (which have the same release schedule as Season 4) ended in March and hit Netflix in early April. We currently expect this for season 4, which means Legacies Season 4 will appear on Netflix in the U.S. in early April 2022.
How to watch Legacies season 4 before it appears on Netflix.
If you don’t want to wait for the entire fifth season to be released on Netflix, you have two options.
The first option is to tune in to The CW every Thursday night and watch the series. This is the old style but still the best way to watch the new episodes live.
Plus, you can watch the episodes the next day for free via The CW’s app.
Will Legacies be available on Netflix and overseas?
Netflix hasn’t acquired any major titles from The CW in recent years, and while it has re-released The Vampires Diaries and The Originals, it hasn’t picked up Legacies yet.
The show is still not for sale, which means there’s still no legal way to watch it on streaming or even traditional TV.
