The third person to play Blade in live-action, after Snipes in the Blade New Line Cinema trilogy and Kirk “Sticky Fingaz” Jones in Blade: The Series, which aired on Spike in 2006. The new film is Blade’s second film. Ali in particular. A major Marvel project, Cornell actor “Cottonmouth,” starred in the former Netflix series Luke Cage in 2016.

Snipes himself recently agreed to choose Ali’s role as Blade, confirming that the two have discussed the matter. “We talked together,” Snipes told journalist Kevin Polowky earlier this month. “It went straight up for us back then. It was a matter of business. I agree. I do not walk around like a Blade, so I am not attached to the character. I do not feel any emotional loss. Marvel Studios Blade, directed by Bassam Tariq, is based on a script by Stacy Osei-Kuffour. Since 5 Bloods star Delroy Lindo has been cast as the lead alongside Ali, though his role is kept secret. The movie does not have a set release date, though production is expected to begin next summer.
