Japanese romantic drama My Dearest, Like a Cherry Blossom will be released on Netflix in spring 2022.

While Netflix is investing heavily in South Korean films, the streaming service invests in movies across Asia, particularly in Japan. Kicking off Spring 2022, the romantic drama My Dearest, Like a Cherry Blossom is coming to Netflix, and here’s everything we need to know.

My Dearest, Like a Cherry Blossom, is a new Netflix Original romantic film directed by Fukagawa Yoshihiro. The film was written by Yoshida Tomoko and Uyama Keisuke and produced by Toho Studios.

Fans will have to wait until spring, but we can already confirm that My Dearest, Like a Cherry Blossom will be released on Netflix on Thursday, March 24, 2022.

What is the plot of My Dearest, Like a Cherry Blossom?

Haruto Asakura, an aspiring photographer, falls in love with hairstylist Misaki Ariake and starts dating her. When he sees how hard Misaki works to achieve her dreams, Haruto is inspired to take up photography again. But their romance may soon be over when Misaki is diagnosed with a rare disease that makes her age ten times faster than usual.

Who are the cast members of My Love, Like a Cherry Blossom?

At the time of writing, there are only two confirmed cast members for My Dearest, Like a Cherry Blossom.

Matsumoto Honoka and Nakajima Kento, the two leads in the film, will play the roles of Asakura Haruto and Ariake Misaki, respectively.

Nakajima Kento is known for his work in the live-action adaptation of the popular anime Nisekoi. He played the lead role of Ichijo Raku.
Matsumoto Honoka recently played the role of Mio in the film Mio’s Cookbook.

When and where did the production of My Dearest, Like a Cherry Blossom take place?

Filming began on October 1, 2021, and ended on October 25, 2021, after several weeks of filming.
