According to one of the project’s leading creators, Thor: Love and Thunder will be unlike anything Marvel Cinematic Universe fans have seen on the big screen so far.
Andy Park, director of visual development at Marvel Studios, spoke to Screen Rant about his work on the upcoming film. And the artist certainly did not hesitate to continue the sequel to Thor: Ragnarok with writer and director Taika Waititi.
“There’s a reason there’s more than a decade of great movies and why this franchise is growing,” Park said. Thor: So Love and Thunder fall into the realm where it only pushes the boundaries of what is pleasurable and intentional. You will be amazed, and these characters and graphics go hand in hand with it. I think [Waititi] said that in an interview where it’s just like that, that’s, he’s surprised it’s worth it – he should not be allowed to make a movie like this. And I understand. This movie is crazy. Is a lot of fun. And I can not wait for everyone to see it. Because it was so much fun working, designing, and keyframe so many characters. It’s going to be okay. It will be fun. ”
Although the artist will not go into detail, he knows the creative steps the film will take within the MCU. And as Park mentions, Waititi started a completely different Thor movie – many say in light of Ragnarok’s unique tone.
“It’s more crazy,” Waititi said in July. “I want to tell you what’s different. There will be many more emotions in this film. And much more love. And many more thunder. And much more Thor when you saw the pictures.”
Although small is known about the film’s plot, Natalie Portman returns as Jane Foster and becomes Thor. Meanwhile, Christian Bale will play the butcher god Gorr. The movie Valkyrie will bring back Tessa Thompson and Sif Jamie Alexanders, who were absent from Thor: The Dark World. Visually, Waititi also claimed that used a groundbreaking new technology for Thor 4, which against all flashback battles in Ragnarok, has become even more impressive than Valkyrie.
