Hawkeye Why did Jeremy Renner almost give up on the Avengers

As one of the six original heroes who starred in The Avengers in 2012, Clint Barton was a milestone in the Marvel Cinematic Universe long before launching his series on Disney +. But Hawkeye may not have gone that far since actor Jeremy Renner revealed he was skeptical about signing the franchise.

In a YouTube interview with Vanity Fair, Renner shared his early discussions about the role with Marvel Studios director Kevin Feige. “Iron Man was out and I said, ‘Look, man, I love what you’re doing,’ because I loved Iron Man. But he also remembered that he was scared on stage that he wanted me to sign up. many Avengers and potential Hawkeye movies. In a way, they shape your life. ”

Renner wondered how he was going to age while playing the same superhero role. “I was thinking, ‘Wait man, I’m maybe 50 in tights?’ My biggest concern was, “he said with a laugh. “I do not know if I will. I do not think anyone will see me in tights when I am 50.”

The archery specialist is a classic Marvel cartoon character. He first appeared in MCU in Thor in 2011, filling his character when Renner took on the role of The Avengers and became a central figure in the franchise alongside Captain America, Iron Man, Black Widow, Thor, and the Hulk. . Of the original six Avengers, Hawkeye was the last to star in his film or TV show, instead of playing a supporting role in ensemble films such as Avengers: Age of Ultron, Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity. . Ten years after playing Hawkeye, Renner seems to have overcome his fear of leaving the role. Still, his new series portrays Clint Barton as a family man trying to get out of the superhero world forever. An enthusiastic young archer named Kate Bishop could be the key to throwing off the cloak if her mentor can prepare her to become the new Hawkeye. The show takes place in New York City with many previous Avengers movies and many memories of Clint.

The first episodes of Hawkeye are now available to stream on Disney +, with a new episode airing every Wednesday.
