When Marvel chose Eternally, Game of Thrones fans was excited to see Kit Harington and Richard Insa. Many loved their chemistry like Jon Snow or Robb Stark, even though it was short. At the same time, we have Stark Family Reunion in the Marvel Cinema Universe, which leaves a lot to be desired as it is very short and elicits few emotional reactions.
The Starks are one of the most famous pop culture families of all time because it’s a new episode, and I felt like it was going to be awesome one day.
Act one of Eternal Comes, there’s a chance they’ll be more rivals than brothers. Still, it ends overwhelmingly, which is disappointing considering the weight of the two actors. Gemma Chans Cersei falls in love with Dane Whitman from Harrington, her co-teacher in London. It is revealed that she and a “pilot” had an affair some time ago. The pilot is Icarus from Madden, one of the leading alien warriors.
They were madly in love, but why he left them remains a mystery, which becomes even more dramatic when it arrives minutes later when a new tribe of dissidents attacks Sersi, Dane, and Sprite. Icarus helps save the day with his thermal images, hugs Sprite, and leads to an awkward but tense moment as he watches Cersei. Dane climbs up and tries to get the size of Icarus, but the only thing that comes back is, “This is how you should be the pilot,” as he cuts the pair’s eyes off.
The Eternals then cut Cersei and Dane apart, destroying their true origins and any comedic potential Madden and Harrington might have. The Marvel Movie Universe is known for some meta-jokes, so it would be nice if Dane joked that Icaris reminded him of a brother or something.
Humor is an invaluable resource in these superhero movies, so it would come in handy for fans who couldn’t see them fight together and save House Stark on TV. Therefore, he doesn’t get the chance to make a huge fan base in the entertainment industry laugh.
It would also be nice to see how they would do more than just fit in, maybe talk a bit while Icaris pokes fun at how desperate the Dane is after moving. Marriage with him, to be transferred only by Walder Frey on behalf of the Lannis. In the end, when Dane is demoted a few minutes later, and the two men have not exchanged words, it is pretty counter-climatic as all the expectations have been built.
