Rumour Yooka-Laylee's Platonic may be joining Microsoft to work on a new Banjo-Kazooie game.

The Playtonic Games has since posted an official statement on Twitter debunking the speculations going around the internet that it has taken steps to work on a new Banjo-Kazooie game and maintaining the fact that it remains an independent studio.

On the contrary, its fans and others seemed not to buy into the explanation following some recent series of substantial actions of the co-owner and Microsoft which contradicts the statement Platonic Games took to Twitter.

What spark the rumor is that, earlier, Platonic games were joined by the ex-Rare developer, Ed Bryan and following the declaration by Yooka-Laylee series, Bryan took to Twitter a branded bag of Microsoft after which he responded by saying “it’s come out of retirement” when fans asked about the bag.

To further saturate the solution of the rumor, the co-owner of Playtonic games, Gavin Price made an update on his Linkedin Profile disclosing that, three more games are in the pipeline: game #3, #4 and game #5, accompanied with the saying that “the #5 one too which is the one I always thought would be game #1”.

This sends the signal that #5 could be a new Banjo game since Playtonic games evolved out of the passion for the creation of a Banjo-Kazooie game.

Moreover, Microsoft has been on an acquisition splurge in the last year, formulating itself for next-gen. So the spy people on Reset Era are now guessing the possibility of the acquisition of Playtonic games by Microsoft as Playtonic games subtly registered a new company earlier this September as “Playtonic Games Development Limited” whiles the studio is consisting of ex-Rare developers.

Therefore, with the above happenings, even if there is no transformation of Banjo, the fans believe there is some change piling up under the duvet of Playtonic games which will hopefully manifest on this year’s XO19 announcement scheduled for 14th November 2019 in London.
