The most famous movies on Netflix are all on Netflix’s Top 10 Movies list, which doesn’t tell you exactly how many people watch these movies. Still, it does mean you which movies people tend the most in the top ten best Netflix movies for Friday 12.

However, which of the movies on Netflix’s Top Most Popular Movies list is good? We break down the complete list of Netflix’s best movies and show you what to eat and what to skip. We do the same for Netflix’s top TV shows, as well as for the entire Netflix top. We also have a list of the best shows and movies to watch on Netflix right now.

Love Hard

Nina Dobrev plays a writer who meets her perfect husband (Darren Barnet) through a dating app. First, she finds out she’s been fished out. The man who caught her offers to go out with the man she’s interested in if he pretends to be his girlfriend on vacation. The Harder They Fall

Of course, you’ve heard the story of hundreds of westerns before: a cowboy assembles a team to take the attack on the people who murdered their loved ones. But were these cowboys (and cowgirls) ever played by Regina King, Idris Elba, LaKeith Stanfield, Jonathan Majors, Delroy Lindo, and Zazie Beetz? The impressive cast, primarily black, features the fast and gory action of director Jeymes Samuel and producer Jay-Z. (rated yesterday: 2)

21 Jump Street

Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum take on the roles of two undercover cops as high school students to investigate a drug gang. It’s based on the 1987 series of proceedings of the same name. Still, so many incredible moments in this film set it apart and enhance it as a classic of modern comedy. What do you feel? (Yesterday’s rating: 3)

Father Christmas Is Back

A film starring Elizabeth Hurley, Kelsey Grammer, and John Cleese should be better than this British Christmas comedy about four sisters who get together for Christmas in a Yorkshire mansion when their long-lost father (Kelsey Grammer) arrives. Watch Love Hard instead. (Yesterday’s rating: 4)

When a crime boss kidnaps his son, a retired Special Forces agent is forced to take out the criminal’s enemies. Smart detective move. (Yesterday’s rating: 6)

Army of Thieves

Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead premiered in May, so we’re already too late for a prequel before Netflix time. This is the precursor. Heist’s film explains how Ludwig Dieger (Matthias Schweighöfer, who also directs) fell into a life of crime while following the security hacker recruited by a team of experts – an army of thieves if you will – attempting a robbery. A zombie outbreak. Expect a lot fewer zombies in this one. (Yesterday’s rating: 7)

Yara

This Italian film performs one of Italy’s most infamous missing person cases, the disappearance of 13-year-old Yara Gambirasio and a gymnast kidnapped on her way home from a nursing home in November 2010. (Yesterday rating: 8)

American Gangster

Denzel Washington plays drug lord Frank Lucas of the late 1960s and early 1970s in this 2007 Oscar-nominated crime drama. Russell Crowe plays the homicide detective who tried to put Lucas behind bars. American Gangster is based in New York and follows Mon.

Passing

Tessa Thompson and Ruth Negga star in this dazzling black-and-white film that touchingly plays with the idea of racial ambiguity. Set in 1920s New York, Negga and Thompson play childhood friends reaching adulthood. Thompson’s character is amazed that his light-skinned, half-black friend could make it through life as a white woman. And that their lives are so different from yours. It is beautifully shot with excellent performances from both protagonists. (Yesterday’s rating: 5)
