Lindsay Lohan celebrates her return with a romantic Netflix comedy, probably in time for Christmas next year.
Netflix has released the first image of the unnamed Christmas movie in which Lohan will play alongside Chord Overstreet (Glee). According to the film’s plot, Lohan is set to play an “incensed, newly engaged hotel heir” who loses his memory in a ski accident and who is “in the care” of the handsome owner of Owrstreet and the “Early” owner’s cabin. Typical romantic comedy “Daughter. The project is in the process of filming and will be shown on Netflix in 2022.
Directed by Janeen Damian, who has previously directed Hallmark films such as A Christmas Waltz, the untitled romantic comedy is written by Damian, Michael Damian, Jeff Bonnett, and Ron Oliver. Also on the cast are George Young (Malicious), Jack Wagner (The Bold and the Beautiful), Sean Dillingham (Yellowstone), and Olivia Perez (In The Heights).
Initially announced by Netflix in May 2021, the film is currently being shot in Salt Lake City, Utah. Other reports suggest that the film’s working title is Christmas in Wonderland. However, Netflix has not officially confirmed this and will be yet another addition to Netflix’s growing Christmas universe.
Although Lohan’s nameless work may not be the first romantic comedy heir to memory loss (Overboard), it marks Lohan’s official return to the big screen, despite making sporadic film and television appearances in recent years. She is best known as a star in movies like Parent Trap, and her latest work includes the 2019 MTV reality show Lindsay Lohan’s Beach Club.
