Kathryn Hahn, star of Marvel Studios’ upcoming Disney + Agatha: House of Harkness series, avoided answering when asked who she chose to play the dimensional demon named Mephisto.
At The Drew Barrymore Show, Barrymore and Hahn first debuted as the witch Agatha Harkness in Marvel Studios’ acclaimed series WandaVision. The hostess looked at her host when she asked about Mephisto, a character she was often told about but never seen. There were many theories about who the character might be or when it might have happened during the first set, but it never happened. Barrymore does not seem to have forgotten him and hopes to see him in the new series, but Hahn shyly played into his response.
“Is there a possibility that Mephisto will show up?” Barrymore asked the actor towards the end of the interview.
“I feel. I do not know,” Hahn replied emphatically. “It was a big deal under WandaVision, but I have not … who I know. Never … have I heard anything definitive about it.”
Undaunted, Barrymore placed more emphasis on the subject. “If you could choose one like Mephisto, who would you choose?” If you’re in the driver’s seat and Agatha chooses a Mephisto, would there ever be anyone to match the bill? ”
Hahn paused to recover, took a sip from his cup, making Barrymore and the audience laugh. “I mean, all I have to say about this,” the actor begins, laughing at everyone, “is that there’s something that seems so hard to interpret … you know we’re thinking of a witch and you thinking, you know, immediately to a noisy, mysterious, dangerous woman because she is complex and misunderstood in that person. Very excited. ”
“Well, everyone will stick to the details that come up,” Barrymore replied firmly.
Although details about the series are still rare, it has been known that it has been up and going since the beginning of October. Wandavision’s lead author Jac Schaeffer is working on its development. Hahn’s character was initially a curious neighbor of some sort who appeared in many mainstream sitcoms. Still, during WandaVision, it was clear that she was more until she was revealed as Agatha Harkness, a witch interested in the magic of Wanda’s Chaos. Hahn’s character portrayal – created in 1970 with Stan Lee and Jack Kirby as survivors of the Salem witch trials – received critical acclaim, fan appreciation and led to a contract for the actor that covered several films and shows in addition to the film Agatha, the Harkness series.
As vague as Mephistos may seem, there is no release date for Agatha: House of Harkness yet, but Hahn fans can be seen behaving like a witch in action in WandaVision, now streaming on Disney +.
