CW Batwoman’s mid-season finale turns things upside down in Gotham City. Ryan Wilder and Wayne Enterprises’ Bat Team lose a dangerous new villain: his brother, Marquis Jet. The story of the Marquis unfolds slowly in a row in season 3. Still, it ultimately reveals his true colors in “Pick Your Poison.” “, he takes over his sister’s business and recreates himself as the Joker’s new incarnation.
Previous episodes have portrayed the Marquis as a calm and unstable man who has a complicated relationship with his mother and sister. While it may immediately seem as if Ryan’s interests are at the center, it’s clear that the Marquis has an aggressive and sociopathic tendency attributed to a Joker attack he was subjected to as a child. Ryan and his team wonder what exactly they think of the Marquis. Still, the latest episode reveals the actual depth of his instability.
The episode begins with Ryan and the Marquis teaming up to chase Jada. However, this is a trap when Jada and her men suddenly stop and the incapacitated awning. Jada thanks Ryan for his help. Ryan seems to help him in exchange for a cure for Mary Hamilton’s transformation into Poison Ivy. The Marquis will be placed in cryogenic stasis, a solution developed through Jada’s partnership with the Black Glove Society.
Unfortunately, the Marquis manages to escape from Jada before joining Wayne Enterprises. After brutally taking a security guard, he fights lightly. He beats the wounded Luke Fox to get his fingers in Mary’s medicine. Ryan apologizes for arranging it soon, but the Marquis refuses to listen and orders Ryan Wayne Enterprises to join him or destroy the treatment.
Brandt reveals that he never cared about Ryan, denied his reason, and accepted his dark side in roaring laughter. When Ryan sees no other choice, Ryan, crushed and angry, draws his company with his brother and says him that she wishes she could get to know him before the Joker damages her brain. The awning replies that the Joker was the only person in Gotham City who had ever enjoyed himself and intended to follow in his footsteps.
The next day, the Marquis – now wearing purple hair in a bright orange dress – holds a press conference to announce itself as the new CEO of Wayne Enterprises. While Ryan, Jada, and the rest of Gotham City watch, the Marquis tells the cameras that he wants to bring a lot more fun to the city, with everyone with an eerie sun on their faces. With the awning chasing the Joker in terms of manners, goals, and wardrobe, and with Gotham City’s most influential company in hand, Batwoman may have finally won the game.
