According to Sitharaman, the Government wants to ensure that no telecom company operating in India is shut down and all move forward.
This statement of the Finance Minister is critical because a committee of secretaries has been constituted to advise the Government on the issue of telecom companies and provide relief to them.
The recommendations of this committee will be finalized within this fortnight.
On Thursday, Vodafone had reported a loss of Rs 50,922 crore and Airtel Rs 23,045 crore in the second quarter of the current financial year.
