Emilia Clarke was not sure what to think of when she initially stepped onto the set of Game of Thrones. At the same time, she was only 23-years-old and new out of drama school.
To no shock, it was quite a surprise to the system when she acquired off all the nude scenarios she would be involved in the initial season.
Showing on Dax Shepard’s podcast, Armchair Expert, Clarke thought of the beginning of her era as Daenerys Targaryen.
“I acquired the job and then they supplied me the scripts and I was going through them, and I was like, ‘Oh, there’s the catch!’” Clarke said on the podcast.
“But I’d come fresh from drama school and I approached it as a job, if it’s in the script then it’s clearly needed, this is what this is and I’m going to make sense of it. Everything’s going to be cool.”
She made herself understand the risqué scenarios would be okay, but, finally, they became troubling as the season went forward. She shared with Shepard that there were moments she would fight back with producers about when she’d have to do a scene involving nudity.

The experience, she claims, has made her an extra”savvy” actress, although.
“I have had fights onset before where I am like, ‘No, the sheet stays up,’ and they are like, ‘You do not want to disappoint your Game of Thrones fans.’ And I am like, ‘F— you,” she explained.
Clarke also took up her on-screen romance, Jason Momoa, who she explained was a huge help in her getting through that initial season. She noted that the Aquaman star would get up for her and was always there for her when she did not feel comforted.
“He took care of me, too,” Clarke said. “In an environment where I did not know I needed to be taken care of.”
