Telecom companies Bharti Airtel, Vodafone Idea, and Tata Teleservices have filed a reconsideration petition challenging the earlier order of October 24 in the Supreme Court, in which the telecom companies were paid about Rs 92,000 crore to the Center on the AGR (Adjustable Gross Revenue) issue Was instructed to do.
In Parliament on Wednesday, Ravi Shankar Prasad informed that telecom operators, as well as service providers and tower companies, had a debt of 7.87 lakh crore as of August 2017. According to Prasad, the total arrears of license fees on 16 telecom service providers is Rs 92,642 crore.
The Union Minister also stated that this is a provisional figure, and the calculation of the outstanding amount will be different as per the Supreme Court’s decision in the AGR case.

He said that Vodafone-Idea owed license fees of Rs 28,309 crore, while Airtel owed license fees of Rs 21,682 crore, license fees of Rs 1,950 crore on Telenor, and license fees of Rs 9,987 crore on Tata group companies.
It is noteworthy that the Supreme Court had upheld the claim of the telecom department to consider non-telecom revenue as part of the AGR and asked the telecom companies to pay the dues on October 24.
