According to the reports, it is becoming increasingly risky in the states where marijuana use is legal.
Researchers found that in the states where the use of recreational marijuana is legal, twenty-five percent more teens are addicted to it as compared to countries where it is not legalized.
The effect of the drug is disastrous; the teens will continue to consume the drug, whether it affects their personal or professional life. Furthermore, 36 percent more adults are consuming these drugs in the states where it is legalized.
Researchers from the New York University School of Medicine reveal that their findings feature a futuristic downside.
Medical marijuana is currently legal in 33 states and some districts of Columbia.
Eleven states, including Alaska, California, Colorado, Illinois, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nevada, Oregon, Vermont, and Washington, have also legalized the use of marijuana for recreation.

Researchers specifically focused on the data from Colorado, Washington, Alaska, and Oregon. These were the first four states to legalize marijuana for recreational use.
A study was published in JAMA Psychiatry that collected data from more than 5 million participants data from the National Survey on Drug Use and Health.
They focused on the usage of marijuana and cannabis use disorder over the past years( 2008 – 2016).
A 2016 study found that around 22.1 million people suffer from cannabis disorder around the world.
