Marvel Cinematic Universe star Chris Evans says that he does not have a cameo in The Falcon and Winter Soldier TV shows as the old Captain America. Evans debuted the role of Steve Rogers of MCU in 2011’s Captain America: The First Avenger, going on to star in two solo films as well as all four Avengers films.
Evans gave up his time as Captain America in Avengers: Endgame earlier this year. In the movie, Steve returns in the 1940s and performs his dance with Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell), who leads a non-superhero life. Old Steve appears in the modern-day Sam Wilson, aka Falcon (Anthony Mackie) under his Captain America shield.
Evans may have retired as Captain America, but Mantle lives in the MCU through Steve’s close friends, Sam and Bucky Barnes, aka Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stein). As confirmed at San Diego Comic-Con this summer, Marvel Studios’ Phase 4 slate includes the Disney + series The Falcon and Winter Soldier, focusing on Sam and Bucky.
While The Falcon and the Winter Soldier sees the return of Captain America’s best friends – and other characters like Sharon Carter (Emily VanCamp) and Baron Zemo (Daniel Bruhl) – the original Star-Spangman Man will not make an appearance.
In an interview with ET in his new film, Knife Out, Evans was asked about the possibility that he might do a cameo in The Falcon and Winter Soldier as the old Captain America. Still, the actor shot it Hurriedly said, “no-no.” When the interviewer changed the tact and asked if there was a possibility of future performance by Evans as Captain America in the MCU, he said, “No, probably not.”
Falcon and Winter Soldier
Although Evans does not eliminate the possibility of returning to the MCU later, they confirm that he will not appear as the old Captain America in The Falcon and Winter Soldier. While it is speculated that Steve Rogers will not appear in the Disney + series, this is the first time someone in the MCU has commented on the case.
This makes sense, given that the show will focus on Falcon and Winter Soldier after Captain America retires and passes the Mantle to Sam. Finality of the Avengers: Endgame allows The Falcon and Winter Soldier to begin a new chapter in Captain America’s legacy, and if Evans were to cameo, it would be underestimated – no matter how much of Evans’ fans enjoy. Old Captain America.
There is always the possibility that Evans will have a cameo on the show, and he is only keeping it a secret. After all, Marvel Studios is infamous for the length to which they would go to save a secret spoiled. Said that the actor had said many times since The Avengers: The Endgame came out that he’s done as Captain America for now.
Although Evans will not return to the MCU as Captain America – and says there is still a possibility in his latest comments – it appears that he is trying to lower expectations for the Falcons and Winter Soldier so that fans He did not show disappointment.
Eventually, fans will have to wait and see when the show hits Disney + next year. But with Falcon and Winter Soldier currently filming, we may learn more about Evans’ involvement as the old Captain America.
