Did Hawkeye refer only to Ta-Lo Shang-Chi

The Marvel Cinematic Universe covers many basic things, from street threats to mysterious and almighty beings. However, the different sides of the franchise rarely overlap with forces that go to great lengths to keep the stories accurate. Well, that changes in Hawkeye episode 3, “Echoes,” when the mysterious side of MCU finds a way to connect the account of Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner) and Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld) with the story of Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner)).

The opening of “Echoes” focuses on Echo (Alaqua Cox) as a child learning to jump in school with hearing children. After returning home, she plays Shadow Chinese with her father (Zahn McClarnon), forcing her to examine the dragons. Echo wants to know what they look like, and if they do, it’s a complex question for a father who needs to bring his daughter’s imagination to life. Instead of killing them, William explains that dragons “live in another world.”

Of course, I could only consider Williams’ answer a good father. Still, since a newer version of the MCU featured dragons in another world, the comparison is hard to ignore. Shang-Chi and Legend of the Ten Rings have introduced Ta-Lo, another picturesque village with many strange creatures, including a dragon. In the film’s third act, Shang-Chi (Simu Liu) and his allies must fight against Dweller in the dark and his armed forces, who threaten to destroy reality and get help in the form of the great and powerful Defender. A dragon that has seen Ta-Lo for centuries.

And the great Defender is nowhere near the only bloodline dragon Williams could refer to. As fans of the Marvel Netflix series know, Danny Rand (Finn Jones), also known as Iron Fist, faced another dragon – Shou Lao the Undying – before becoming the arch-enemy and Defender of the hand of K’s-Mon. Still, built this show was from a cannon; Shang-Chi Jiang Nan’s aunt (Michelle Yeoh) says that other villages like Ta-Lo may have a version of K’un.

Sure, it’s unlikely that William knows that Ta-Lo or any other mysterious village is in a different aspect, but that does not prevent his answer from being more or less accurate. And as her daughter grows up preparing to be in a world full of heroes, villains, and monsters, it’s no exaggeration to think that Echo will one day fulfill her desire to meet a dragon.

As proof of Shanke Chi’s Hawkeye benchmark, the first three episodes are now being streamed on Disney +.
