Production for the third season of Taylor Sheridan’s Landman officially commenced in Fort Worth, Texas, in late September 2026. The new installment of the Paramount+ drama follows a narrative shift established in the previous season’s finale, focusing on a new chapter for the central characters within the West Texas oil industry.
The upcoming season follows protagonist Tommy Norris (Billy Bob Thornton) as he launches an independent venture, CTT Oil Exploration & Cattle, LLC. This transition introduces high-stakes corporate friction, highlighted by the addition of Michael Kelly to the cast. Known for his roles in House of Cards and Lioness, Kelly joins the series as William Crockett, the head of the world’s largest oil management firm. His character is positioned as a primary force in the industry landscape as Norris attempts to build his own operation.

While the series previously adhered to a November release pattern, Season 3 is expected to premiere in mid-to-late 2027. This updated timeline is due to a production schedule that is slated to run through the first quarter of 2027. The shift follows a period of delays earlier in the year as Sheridan managed several concurrent projects across television and film.
Taylor Sheridan’s Film Development and Release Schedule
The Landman production restart occurs alongside several major feature film milestones for Sheridan. His project F.A.S.T. is currently scheduled for release on May 14, 2027. Directed by Ben Richardson, the film stars Brandon Sklenar, Sam Claflin, and Jason Clarke. While Sheridan serves as a writer and producer on the project, he has continued his practice of collaborating with seasoned directors for his cinematic output.
Further out on the schedule, Sheridan is co-writing a Call of Duty film with director Peter Berg. The project is reportedly set within the “Modern Warfare” universe and is currently slated for a June 30, 2028, release. Despite these commitments to the big screen, Landman remains a significant anchor for Paramount+; Season 2 reportedly drew 9.2 million views within its first two days, reinforcing the show’s status as a top performer for the service.
