The western genre is very much alive at Paramount Network, where Yellowstone’s hit series will enter its fourth season this fall. The series has proven to be a big hit for the cable channel, and after all the events of season three, fans are eager to find out what happened.
Taylor Sheridan’s series has also spawned an expanded Yellowstone universe that will be introduced to viewers with two Paramount Plus original series, Mayor of Kingstown and 1883.
But that’s another topic. If you are reading this article, you want to know what to expect in Yellowstone’s fourth season. Here’s everything we know about the final season of Yellowstone.
What is the plot of Yellowstone?
Yellowstone is a drama series set in modern-day Montana that follows the Dutton family, who own one of the largest cattle ranches in the country. However, this fact makes them a target for several groups looking to invade the Dutton’s land.
Things got explosive by the end of season three. SPOILERS AHEAD. The final moments of season three saw coordinated attacks on members of the Dutton family. A bomb exploded in Beth Dutton’s office, Kayce Dutton was attacked in her own office, and John Dutton was shot on the side of the road. The season ended without either fate being decided.
The reaction to these attacks will likely play a significant role in the early part of season four, if not as a recurring storyline throughout the season. However, little information has been revealed about specific plot points.
Who’s in “Yellowstone cast?”
Kevin Costner plays the patriarch of the Dutton family, John Dutton. He runs the ranch with his children, played by Kelly Reilly (Beth Dutton), Luke Grimes (Kayce Dutton), and Wes Bentley (Jamie Dutton).
The rest of the cast includes Will Patton, Cole Hauser, Kelsey Asbille, Brecken Merill, Jefferson White, Gil Birmingham, and Ian Bohen.
Oscar nominee Jacki Weaver, Piper Perabo, Kathryn Kelly, and Finn Little appear in season four.
When will the fourth season of “Yellowstone” be released?
It’s been over a year since the season three finale when Yellowstone viewers desperately wanted to know what happened to many of the characters, but now the wait is almost over. Yellowstone’s fourth season debuts Nov. 7 on Paramount Network. New episodes will be released weekly.
Paramount Network will reward fans’ patience with special treatment, as the Nov. 7 premiere will feature two back-to-back episodes of Yellowstone.
How to Watch Yellowstone
To watch Yellowstone live on TV, you’ll need access to the Paramount Network. Check with your local cable/satellite TV provider to see if they offer packages that include the premium channel. Services like FuboTV, Hulu with Live TV, Sling TV, and YouTube TV offer the Paramount network.
Oddly enough, if you want to stream previous seasons of Yellowstone, you can’t do so through Paramount Plus. Peacock currently owns the streaming rights to Yellowstone and offers all three seasons on its service. Still, they are only available to Peacock Premium subscribers.
Will there be a season 5 of Yellowstone?
Given Yellowstone’s importance to the Paramount Network, can fans expect more episodes after this season?
We don’t know yet. Nothing has been announced about the fifth season of Yellowstone. Still, What to Watch will update this page with any news we learn about Yellowstone’s future.
