NBC Thursdays are not just for Law & Order as The Blacklist returns for its ninth season on the Peacock Network after a shocking eighth season finale that will change the dynamics of the series in the future. So let us know without delay what exactly you need to know about The Blacklists return.
What is the plot in the “black list”?
The blacklist was created by Jon Bokenkamp and debuted on NBC in 2013. The series began with a young FBI profile, Elizabeth “Liz” Keen, whose life was wiped out when a mysterious criminal, Raymond “Red” Reddington, who has avoided arrest for decades, gives up and insists on talking to her. This inciting incident resulted in Liz and Redington working together to kill some of the world’s most notorious criminals using the so-called “blacklist.”
Throughout the series’ eight seasons, Liz and Reading struggled with many aspects of the underworld; they also dealt with many upheavals and further explored the mysterious origins of their relationship.
SPOILER ALERT if you do not know the blacklist as we move to the end of season 8 (you should get it as soon as possible as there are events that change the order).
As the season 8 finale begins, viewers say they have to wait for death. Readington tells Liz he’s dying, but he wants to kill him to take control of his criminal empire. To sweeten the dish, he reveals a note from Liz’s mother explaining who Red is, but he can only get it after killing him. Liz reluctantly agrees, but she cannot do what she understands when it’s time to shoot Red. But a rival agent has made Red’s plan and reaches the stage and shoots Liz in the back. Red holds her while she dies.
Season 9 takes a leap into the future with the first episode, “The Skinner.” Here is the summary:
“In the two years ago Elizabeth Keen’s death, Reddington and the Task Force have disbanded without knowing where Red was. But if one of their members is injured while on duty, they will join forces to prevent a global conspiracy.”
Who is the cast on the “black list”?
The blacklist has always shown the weak collaboration between Red and Liz, played for the entire series by James Spader and Megan Boone, respectively. Of course, after the events of season 8, this collaboration ended with only Spader continuing the series.
Of course, there were other team members that Red would work with, including Diego Klattenhoff as Donald Ressler, Harry Lennix as Harold Cooper, Hisham Tawfiq as Dembe Zuma, Amir Arison as Aram Mojtabai, and Laura Sohn as Parc Alina.
Although he was not part of the cast, creator Jon Bokenkamp also left the showrunner at the end of the eighth season. John Eisendrath took on major creative tasks after being in the series since 2014.
