A man died in northern Israel after falling from a hot air balloon and landed in a moving car.
Israeli media reported that the man, in his 20s, was a member of the balloon’s ground crew who was left hanging from the basket of the balloon after take-off.
The passengers of the balloon tried to drag him inside, but he slipped and fell about 100 meters (330 feet) into a car traveling on a highway near the town of Afula.
Paramedics said the man was pronounced dead on the spot.
The people inside the car did not need medical attention and the balloon and its passengers landed safely nearby.
The incident will be investigated by the police and the civil aviation authority.
“Apparently he is a ground crew member who should have been on the ground and not in the air, who for some unknown reason found himself hanging from the balloon”, Local police officer Cpl Slava Bonchuk told Ynet’s website.
“People are in shock. This is a very difficult case.”
