The complicated story of SHIELD's graviton agents

Throughout the seven seasons, SHIELD. It served as a live-action debut for several comic book villains, but none of them were more powerful than Graviton. The series played the gravity-controlling villain in the third episode. Still, his story was discarded and left unresolved for over four years before finally being solved in season five, the same character who fought the Avengers in the comics.

Graviton’s origins in comics are pretty simple – he is a physicist named Franklin Hall, exposed to graviton particles, which allow him to control gravity. Crazy about power, he becomes a recurring supervillain enemy of the Avengers and Lightning. Graviton has been described time and time again as one of the most dangerous villains in the Marvel universe.

Because of its reputation, fans were incredibly excited to see Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 1, Episode 3, “The Asset,” starring Franklin Hall as S.H.I.E.L.D. Scientist studies a rare element called gravitonium. Hall is kidnapped by a businessman named Ian Quinn to help him figure out how to exploit the item. Still, Hall secretly implements a plan to destroy it. SIGN. It disturbs, and Hall ends up in a mass of gravitonium, which absorbs it.

Despite this incredibly promising setup, Hall never reappears in the series. Gravitonium is mentioned a few more times before it disappears after the first season. In an interview, Hall actor Ian Hart said that he was frustrated that he was never allowed to return. Over the years, it has emerged that they had withdrawn and would never keep their promise to introduce Graviton.

It turns out, however, that the creators of S.H.I.E.L.D. I played the long game, and fans were shocked when Gravitonium returned to season 5. As the season progressed, the mysterious element became an essential element of the plot. They formed a necessary aspect of Hydra’s plan to create its super-soldier. Additionally, a flashback reveals that Gravitonium also engulfed Quinn. Her consciousness continues to coexist with Halls in the Twisted Element.

SIGN. Manages to recover Hydra’s gravitonium, but not before Carl Creel, aka Absorbent Man, is permeated by the element. Obsessed with the voices of Hall and Quinn constantly arguing in his head, Carl asks his friend and returning character Glenn Talbot to remove the Graviton and absorb it. The power-hungry Talbot takes the name Graviton, decides to find more Gravitonium to increase its power, and travels to Chicago to extract the element directly from the Earth’s core.

In Chicago, Talbot confronts Daisy Johnson, better known as Quake. They fight, and Talbot suppresses Quake and returns to a cleared timeline where Graviton destroyed Earth. However, thanks to Phil Coulson’s support, Daisy defeats Talbot and sends him into space, killing him and destroying the Gravitonium after four construction seasons.
