Netflix has officially scheduled the U.S. streaming debut of Dragon Ball Super: Beerus for October 17, 2026. This release follows a weekly schedule, with new episodes arriving on the platform roughly six days after their initial broadcast on Fuji TV in Japan, which is set to begin on October 11, 2026.
The series is framed as an “enhanced edition” of the early chapters of the Dragon Ball Super narrative. This project aims to refine the original production through updated animation, redrawn scenes, and a reconstructed narrative flow. According to ComicBook.com, the remake is confirmed to consist of 19 episodes in total.

Arc Coverage and Production Details
Unlike the original 2015 series which ran for 131 episodes, Dragon Ball Super: Beerus focuses on a tighter presentation of the franchise’s return. The 19-episode run will cover three major story arcs:
- The God of Destruction Beerus Arc: The introduction of Super Saiyan God and the awakening of Beerus.
- The Golden Frieza (Resurrection ‘F’) Arc: The return of the iconic villain and the debut of Super Saiyan Blue.
- The Universe 6 Tournament Arc: The initial expansion of the multiverse featuring the contest between Champa and Beerus.
Toei Animation has tapped Tadayoshi Yamamuro to direct the project. The production also features updated audio elements, including new theme songs performed by MEGATERA・ZERO and VK Blanka. This “polish and tighten” approach has drawn comparisons to the treatment Dragon Ball Z Kai gave to the original Z-series, focusing on high-fidelity visuals and removing filler content to better align with the core story.
Roadmap to ‘The Galactic Patrol’
Industry analysts and official reports indicate that this remake serves a strategic purpose beyond nostalgia. By refreshing the early arcs with modern production standards, the series acts as a narrative bridge to Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol. That sequel series, which will adapt the manga’s Moro arc, has been officially announced by Toei Animation for a 2027 release.
The 2026 launch of the Beerus remake ensures that the franchise remains active on major streaming platforms leading into the debut of entirely new material. For fans seeking more immediate updates, a dedicated panel for Dragon Ball Super: Beerus is scheduled for New York Comic Con on October 8, 2026. This panel is expected to provide further insight into the technical enhancements and the specific creative choices made for the reconstructed 19-episode format.
