The management of ’s $450 million estate has entered a complex legal phase.

Freida Parton is speaking out to dispel rumors of a internal rift within the family of the late country music icon Dolly Parton. Despite an escalating legal battle between the executors of her sister’s estate and her nephew, Bryan Seaver, Freida maintains that the family itself remains unified.

In a statement shared via Instagram on September 23, 2026, Freida Parton asserted that there is “no feud” within the Parton/Owens family. Her comments appear aimed at distinguishing the family’s private relationships from the public litigation launched by She’s Alive, LLC, the entity established to manage Dolly Parton’s estimated $450 million business interests following her death on August 25, 2026.

The Estate’s Legal Offensive

The perceived conflict stems from a lawsuit filed by the estate’s professional executors against Bryan Seaver, who served as Dolly’s longtime head of security. Seaver was terminated from his position on September 16, 2026. Shortly after his dismissal, a Tennessee judge granted a temporary restraining order against him on September 23, 2026, citing what the estate described as “terrorizing conduct.”

According to court filings, She’s Alive, LLC alleges that Seaver engaged in a campaign of intimidation and extortion. The estate claims Seaver sent threatening text messages in which he allegedly identified himself as an international arms dealer and mercenary. The professional executors have characterized the situation as “warfare,” necessitating the legal intervention to protect employees and business partners.

The restraining order currently requires Seaver to stay 1,000 feet away from She’s Alive, LLC employees and business partners.

Seaver’s Defense: An ‘Inside Joke’

Bryan Seaver has denied the allegations of threats, framing the lawsuit as a “publicity stunt” by the estate’s management. He argues that the terminology cited in the legal filings has been taken out of context. According to Seaver, the “killer” moniker was actually an inside joke and a term of endearment used by his late aunt.

He claims Dolly Parton frequently referred to him as her “killer” or “baby boy ninja” during his years of service. Forbes reports that the estate’s lawsuit specifically focuses on these “I’m a killer” threats as evidence of a genuine security risk rather than familial banter.

The dispute centers on text messages that the estate claims were threats, but Seaver describes as inside jokes.

The distinction between the corporate actions of the estate and the feelings of the Parton family remains a central point of Freida Parton’s public stance. While She’s Alive, LLC pursues Seaver in court, the family members have not publicly aligned themselves with the aggressive legal tactics used by the non-family executors.

A formal court hearing to determine whether the temporary restraining order will be extended is scheduled for October 7, 2026. This hearing is expected to further detail the specific nature of the communications between Seaver and the estate management during the weeks following Dolly Parton’s passing.
