The plot centers on Stewie and Brian as they descend into Hell to face the consequences of 24 seasons of misbehavior. According to details reported by The Futon Critic, the storyline involves the duo eventually attempting to take over the underworld themselves.
Holiday Specials and the 2026 Roadmap
The upcoming Halloween special is part of a broader strategy of events for the franchise in 2026. Following the October premiere, a second holiday special titled “The Peter Clause” is scheduled for release in late 2026. That episode will feature Peter Griffin in a competition to become the official Santa of Quahog.
While these standalone specials are anchoring the franchise’s current presence, the primary series is taking a temporary break from its traditional broadcast home. Season 25 of Family Guy is officially set to return to the FOX network in 2027.
The franchise also appears to be expanding beyond the core Griffin family dynamic. A spinoff series focused on Stewie is reportedly in development, with Kenan Thompson and Melissa O’Neil said to be among the cast members. Official details regarding the spinoff’s plot or its specific timeline within the Family Guy universe have not yet been confirmed by the studio.
