Following the successful launch of Control Resonant on September 24, 2026, Remedy Entertainment has detailed its immediate post-launch roadmap. The plan focuses on enhancing replayability and creative tools, headlined by the introduction of an infinite “New Game Plus Plus” mode this month and a dedicated Photo Mode arriving in November.
The game, which follows protagonist Dylan Faden as he navigates a reality-warped version of Manhattan, has seen a “Very Positive” reception on Steam since its debut. To maintain this momentum, the developer is addressing early player feedback regarding campaign longevity and the ability to capture the game’s high-fidelity visuals.
Infinite Replayability with New Game Plus Plus
The upcoming “New Game Plus Plus” (NG++) update, scheduled for release in October 2026, aims to solve limitations found in the launch-day New Game Plus. While the standard version currently allows for a single replay of the narrative, NG++ will enable players to start infinite consecutive runs without erasing character progress. Highlighting the scale of this loop, Remedy noted in a community update that players can “Do 665 runs if you want!”
This infinite looping system is designed to complement the game’s RPG elements and the growth of Dylan’s shapeshifting weapon. Beyond the loop mechanics, Remedy has also confirmed that additional cosmetic outfits for Dylan are currently in development, though these do not yet have a specific release window.
Photo Mode and Performance Priorities
A specialized Photo Mode is slated for a November 2026 rollout. According to developer statements, the feature was delayed until after launch so the team could prioritize game performance and stability. Early patches have already been deployed to address PC-specific bugs and optimization for the Northlight Engine, which powers the game’s full path tracing and DLSS 4.5 support.
To ensure the quality of the upcoming creative tools, Remedy Entertainment reportedly consulted with community virtual photographers during the development process. The goal is to provide a suite of tools that can adequately capture the distorted geometry and lighting effects of the New York setting.
Control Resonant is currently available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. While the October update will focus on the NG++ loop, the developer continues to monitor performance data to refine the experience ahead of the November content drop.
