Before we can find out when season six can arrive, we are still waiting on the second half of season five. Star Tom Ellis kindly provided fans with an update at the end of August when he popped from the Pilot TV podcast:
“The Second eight episodes, I’m not certain when they are likely to drop because we have still got the finale. We were about halfway through it. So we go back, we begin with that, then we go into year six.
“So hopefully that’ll be prepared to go, I would imagine, sort of Christmas time or early next year”
Filming for the rest of season five is now due to restart in October 2020, But with the ongoing effect of COVID-19, this date might yet be pushed back. In any event, it’s completely possible that year six and the rest of the season five episodes may be filmed back-to-back.
