Camp Bestival organizers have announced that they will hold a second festival on the Shropshire-Staffordshire border next year.
The family-friendly event has been held in Lulworth Castle, Dorset, since 2008.
Co-curator Rob da Bank said he was “so excited” to announce the launch of the second event at Weston Park.
“The demand is so great from Shropshire and Birmingham to the north,” he said, but added that people are reluctant to make the long journey south.
“So we are trying to fulfill this request and give them a new show,” he told BBC Radio Shropshire.
He said he picked the site, which is half in Shropshire, half in Staffordshire, following a recommendation from a friend.
“[It has] amazing gardens and has had festivals there before and we went to see it just a few months ago and am totally blown away.
“I’m not exaggerating, it’s one of the best festival venues we’ve ever seen, beautiful trees, beautiful woods … it’s absolutely stunning.
He said the location was not far from Wales in the north and is “in the middle of the Midlands”.
“So for us it was just a very obvious choice.”

Describing the festival, he said, it covers “a little bit of everything from wood crafts and sleeping under the stars,” to great musical performances on the main stage.
“We try to make sure that people have a really great weekend with their family away from the screens, away from the devices.
“People bring everything except the kitchen sink, sometimes even the kitchen sink. People really make it a vacation.”
Camp Bestival Shropshire will be held in Weston Park from 18-21 August 2022, three weeks after Camp Bestival Dorset.
