Adele convinced Spotify to remove the shuffle button from all album pages so that the tracks play in artist order.
Singer tweeted: “We don’t create albums with such care and we thought about our tracklist for no reason.
“Our art tells a story and our stories should be heard as we wanted. Thanks Spotify for listening.”
The streaming service he answered “anything for you” and took away the option for listeners to mix up the order in which music plays from album pages.
However, the shuffle symbol – two intersecting arrows – still appears on the individual songs on the album.
This means that you can still start listening to albums on any track and opt for playing the songs in random order.
The shuffle button still appears in playlists as well. The BBC asked Spotify for comment.
30 by Adele – her first album in six years – was available on Spotify since its release on Friday.
This marked a change from his latest album – 25 – which could only be physically purchased or downloaded when it was released in November 2015.
It became the best-selling album in British history, moving more than 800,000 copies in the first week.
It wasn’t until June 2016 that it was made available on streaming sites like Spotify, Apple Music, and Tidal.
